Clients often come to us with neglected older homes, ready to bring them back to their potential. This home was a true hidden gem.
Along with architect Michael Andrew Barber, we created a clean and modern space in this 1950’s ranch in Austin’s historic Rosedale neighborhood. Bringing homes into the 21st century while preserving & restoring their original charm is a passion of ours, and it also ensures that these homes aren’t bulldozed and sent to the landfill in favor of cheaply-built new construction.
The original 3 bedroom home was expanded, creating a large, modern kitchen and a relaxing master suite. The new guest house studio overlooks Shoal Creek and even has a surprise city view that was discovered after clearing overgrowth. A true diamond in the rough now shines in Rosedale.
